The project is aimed at all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League, helping players, children and parents to find a club in their local area that meets FA standards.
Charter Standard is recognized as a kite mark within Grassroots Football and is regarded as a statement of quality. The FA have set down criteria which needs to be met by clubs in order for them to be recognized as an FA Charter Standard Club.
The Criteria for charter status includes: -
• A written constitution, with regular meetings which are minuted
• FA CRB checked volunteers, coaches and a Child Welfare Officer
• Qualified coaches to have a minimum of FA Level 1 Coaching Course
• Commitment to attend in-service training
• Acceptance and promotion of Codes of Conduct
• Policies such as Child Protection, Equal Opportunities For All, Disciplinary Procedures, Volunteer Recruitment and a complaints procedure
• Commitment to provide Mini-Soccer opportunities for Under 10s
• School club links and exit routes for players into the adult game
• Database of all club members with contact details and a personal training record
• Audited accounts and public liability insurance cover
Being a chartered status club gives clubs a number of opportunities and helps the Club when applying for funding and support for future growth. There are four categories of achievement;
