Step 1
Download the appropriate Charter Standard Club Application form by clicking on the Useful Downloads link to TheFA.com (right), and familiarise yourself with what criteria your club needs to meet for it to achieve the award.
Step 2
Contact Ken Headington, Football Development Officer for Clubs (Tel: 01462 650222 or e-mail ken.headington@hertfordshirefa.com)
Ken will be happy to assist you through the process of application and explain the criteria in more detail. Following the initial phone call or meeting you will have a better idea of the pathway of action to follow and a better understanding of the process and what is involved.
Step 3
Agree within your club how you will meet the criteria for the award. We will, if required, assist you all the way through the process to achieve that end goal.
There will of course be questions and areas for clarification. We can offer support on the phone, through club visits or the club can arrange meetings with specific Development Officers for more detailed guidance.
Step 4
Once the application is complete along with all appropriate evidence, you will need to present it to Ken Headington either by post or through an arranged meeting.
Hertfordshire FA will then check the application and advise the club whether any criteria has been missed or any ammendments that need to be made to you application.
Step 5
The club application will be checked by the County Welfare Officer, County Disciplinary Committee and the league that your club plays in before been approved by Hertfordshire FA and submitted to The FA.
A successful application will then receive a ceritificate, plaque, Umbro Vouchers, a resource CD-ROM and a letter of congratulations from The FA.
Step 6 & Destination
Your club is now a FA Charter Standard Club and Hertfordshire FA will arrange to present you with your well earned award and help you promote your success through local media.
Your club will now have access to all the benefits from being a Charter Standard Club, including invitations to In-Service Events (see link right), a discount from Umbro and I-Goal, regular updates from Hertfordshire FA on new developments for your club to be involved with and dedicated County FA Football Development Staff who can help your club grow and support your ambitions.
