Club Welfare Officer

Club Welfare Officers (CWOs) are critical in ensuring the CRB process is introduced and properly managed in clubs with children.

**Notice**

The next Child Welfare Officer Workshop will be Tuesday 18th September at The County Ground, Letchworth (7:30pm)

For more information please contact Ken Headington on 01462 650 208 or by clicking here

Once appointed CWOs should request a Club Welfare Officer pack either by:

E-mail: crb@TheFA.com
Phone: 0800 085 0506
Writing: The FA CRB Unit, 1 Wilford Business Park, Ruddington Lane, Nottingham, NG11 7EP

The Club Welfare Officer should then follow the instructions in the pack and submit their own Disclosure Application Form to The FA CRB Unit. When their Disclosure is returned and found acceptable they will then be sent a pack to check the rest of the club.

The Club Welfare Officer should put anyone through the process whose normal club duties include caring for training, supervising or being in sole charge of children. Whilst Club Officials in Youth Clubs need to have a Disclosure the Club Welfare Officer may wish to start with the priority groups.

Charter Standard Status

Clubs applying for Charter Standard Status need to appoint a Club Welfare Officer.

Clubs must have a fully checked Club Welfare Officer in post before applying for Charter Standard status and must then check all other relevant people in the Club within 6 months, in order to retain their Charter Standard status.
