Disability Football

Hertfordshire FA is dedicated to the growth and development of disability football throughout England as well as here in Hertfordshire. There is some fantastic disability football work going on around the county and for all the latest news, this is the place to find it.

The development of football opportunities for disabled people has gathered momentum at The FA tremendously over the past six years.

The FA is committed to helping anyone with a disability to become involved in football as a player, coach, referee or fan - from representative sides to investment in grassroots participation, and from removing barriers for playing to creating opportunities to be involved at all levels.

There is now a National Disability Football Strategy in place together with a National Disability Football Development Manager, Jeff Davis.

As the Hertfordshire FA, the Football Development Team are committed to providing opportunities for disabled people to participate in the game, and this will be one of our priorities over the coming months and years.

The annual Coaching Disabled Footballers Course will be returning, in addition to the work of Gareth Jones who is joint funded by Hertfordshire FA and Watford Community Sports & Education Trust to improve the provision of opportunities for disabled players, coaches and volunteers.
