Women's Football in Hertfordshire

Women's football continues to prosper partly due to an increase in girls football.  It is hoped that in light of the recent Women's World Cup that the women's game carries on encouraging more 16+ females into the game.

In Hertfordshire we have 27 affiliated clubs registering a total of 32 teams playing in and around the County.

One initiative which has taken off in the last couple of years is the 'Kick Yourself Fit' (Get Back Into) sessions.  This is a fun way to get fit for Ladies only.

The aim of the sessions is to have fun, learn a few football skills and play a few games. It’s for all fitness levels and abilities, especially if you haven't played for a while or have never played before - everyone is welcome, just come along, meet new friends and have some fun!

Playing football is a great way to stay fit and will provide you with a total-body workout. It's also great for beating the blues as sessions can improve mood, confidence and self esteem, as well as help to reduce stress and aid better sleep.

Sessions will be starting up late September/early October at venue's across the County.  Check back here in the next couple of weeks to find out where they'll be!

Step 6: of the Women's League Structure is the Beds and Herts Women's County League which merged in 2006 to form a more sustainable and competitive opportunity at that level.  The joint women's league have over 380 players registered.  For more information on the Women's County League please view the related links.

Step 1: at the other end of the structure Hertfordshire is represented by Watford Ladies FC in The FA National Women's Premier League.

If you are interested in joining any of the teams in the County league or any other as a player, coach or volunteer please do not hesitate to contact Louisa Suff at the Herts FA.
