From now on all Referees must complete a Criminal Records Bureau Check (CRB) and a Child Protection course in order for them to officiate, this is to ensure safety of individuals that play the game.
Referees have to complete the required Child Protection documents/courses to enable them to affiliate to their County FA and so they are able to Referee. The FA has brought this in as mandatory for 2007/2008 season onwards to ensure the people that participate in football are in a safe environment.
