Millennium Volunteers

Millennium Volunteers is a national volunteering scheme for all 16-25 year olds who can volunteer their time doing something they enjoy doing.

MV is a great personal development opportunity. Young people will reach the MV Awards at 100 hours of volunteering and at 200 hours of volunteering

The MV awards are something a young person can put on every C.V. and job application they produce in the future. These MV Awards are recognised by employers and educational establishments, including universities and colleges. They tell people that you have gained vocational skills and have given a commitment to your local community.

Millennium Volunteers came under the management of ‘V’ in April 2007, which is an independent charity to champion youth volunteering in England. Its aim is to inspire a million more young people age 16-25 to volunteer by 2012.

There is a new ‘V’ certificate which will ensure that you will receive an award whatever hours you may complete as a Millennium Volunteer. There is a minimum of 8 hours to be able to receive a ‘V’ certificate.
