As part of the National Game strategy 2008-12 the FA is keen to eliminate the abuse and poor behaviour which is common at many youth football matches. It has appointed new County Welfare Officers throughout the country and is aiming for a network of trained volunteers who will be the Club Welfare Officers (CWO’s).
By affiliation for the 2008-09 season all clubs with youth sections must have appointed a Club Welfare Officer who has an enhanced CRB check completed or in progress. Future affiliations for the Hertfordshire FA will require that the CWO has undergone further training via the FA Safeguarding Children Workshop and Welfare Officer Workshop.
This area of the website covers many of the aspects of Safeguarding Children and can be accessed by using the links on the left.
