
These three hour workshops are designed to raise awareness on safeguarding issues and enable the participants to deliver a safer more enjoyable environment in football.
The workshop covers the following topics:
• The FA’s commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in football • Examples of best practice and abuse • Recognising the signs, indicators and forms of abuse and their impact on children • Identifying behaviour that would give cause for concern • What action to take if you are worried about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult
The following people should attend:
• Coaches, medics and referees • Club Welfare Officers and assistants(mandatory for future affiliations) • Committee members who make decisions on child issues within their club/league
The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop is normally included in the referee and level 1 coaching course
