Young Referees Take Charge On Sky 1 This Month

Sky 1's newest TV show to find the best footballing talent in the UK & Ireland kicked off on Sunday 3rd January.

The shows penultimate stage was filmed at Watford FC's training ground in London Colney where the trialist were being watched by Inter Milan's top scouts and coaches along with ex-Tottenham & Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp, who mentored the boys over the weekend..

Hertfordshire Referee Academy Director, Roger Bowden, was approached by Sky to provide 3 match officials for the games and Lee Marshallsay, Lisa Threllfal and Adrian Waters were put forward. The group of young referees took charge of three games over the course of two days.

From the game a chosen twelve will travel to Milan to spend five weeks at the clubs state of the art training complex Interello and will train with some of the clubs best young players and be mentored by the clubs superstars including Javier Zanetti and Patrick Vieira.

Inter Head Coach, Jose Mourinho, will pick a winner who will receive a contract with the clubs academy!
