The national finals of the English Schools FA U12 Indoor 5-a-side Cup took place on Monday 1st March in Derby.
The competition started back in September 2009 with the girl’s competition attracting 727 entries.
Queen’s School won the first “District Round” beating Parmiters’ in the final. They travelled to Norwich for the 2nd Regional finals, beating St Martin’s School from Colchester 3-2 in extra time.
As regional winners they were down to the final 8 teams in this national competition against school teams from; Newcastle, Shrewsbury, Bristol, South Notts, Woking, Bury Metro and Jersey.
They were top of their group in the knock out stages during the day, beating Philips School in the semi-final 2-0. They met Priory School from Shrewsbury in the final, and just missed out on the top slot with a 2-1 score to Priory.

Queens School Head, Mr Terence James was thrilled with the teams accomplishment "We are very proud indeed of the achievements of the Girls' U12 Football Team in reaching the final of this prestigious competition. They are clearly maintaining the outstanding record of girls' football at Queens' and we are very excited about what this squad can go on to achieve in the future.
