2011 County FA Awards Nominees Announced

Hertfordshire FA are delighted to announce the nominees for this seasons awards evening.

The night will be held at Knebworth Barns on Thursday 23rd June 2011 where nominees and their guests will be invited to find out who the winners are in the following categories:

Young Volunteer of the Year
Harry Loft (Welwyn GC) - Matt Stevens (Wheathampstead) - Matt Wyatt (Hemel Hempstead)

Most Promising Referee of the Year
Tom Cartwright (Welwyn GC) - Phillip Evans (St. Albans) - Rob Smith (Letchworth)

School of the Year
Kings Langley School - Parmiters School - Queens School

Volunteer of the Year
Matt Goodchild (Hertford) - Simmon Patterson (Stevenage) - Kevin Voight (Hertford)

Coach of the Year
David Eames (Welwyn GC) - Phil Green (Abbots Langley) - John Shults (Hemel Hempstead)

Referee Achievement of the Year
Jake Hillier (Barnet) - Rob Smith (Letchworth) - Adrian Waters (Hemel Hempstead)

Outstanding Contribution to Community Football
Roy Bennett (Chorleywood) - Bal Singh (Letchworth) - Michael Warner (Sarratt)

Charter Standard Club of the Year
Chorleywood Common Youth FC - Evergreen Youth FC - Wodson Park Youth FC

Charter Standard Development Club of the Year
Bedwell Rangers FC - Hemel Hempstead Town Youth FC - St. Albans Rangers FC

Charter Standard Community Club of the Year
Bishops Stortford Community FC - Royston Town Youth FC - St Albans City Youth FC

Awards will also be given to people who have contributed massively to the game either this season or over a number of years. These people are:

Workforce Awards - Mark Burke (Hitchin Town FC), Paul Hewetson (WHYL), Kerry Reed (HGFPL), Anthony Smith (HSFA U18's), Sarah Steadman (Queens School), Derrick Williams (KitAid), Roy Williams (Referee Training Officer), Ian Woods (St Albans City Youth FC)

25 Years Referee Long Service - Guy Bispham (Bushey) , Michael Chapman (Watford), Ben Gooray (Stevenage), Kevin Sells (Hemel Hempstead), Chris Spriggins (Stevenage)

40 Years Referee Long Service - Mark Austen (Kings Langley), John Burlison (Stevenage), Eddie King (Hoddesdon), Alan Willmott (Ware)

50 Years Referee Long Service - Peter Molyneux (Borehamwood)

50 Years Football Service - Ted Ellis (Welwyn GC), Eddie King (Hoddesdon), Charles Smith (Hertford)

Nick Perchard, Hertfordshire FA Chief Executive, said: "I would like to thank everyone who made nominations for our County FA Awards. To receive the second highest number of nominations in England is a fantastic achievement.

"I want to take this opportunity to congratulate those who have been nominated for a category and commiserate with those who were unsuccessful this time. The standard of nominations we received this year shows just how much work is being done across Hertfordshire to make football better for all that are involved in the game.

"We hope all the nominees can attend the evening, it is a great way of thanking those who have made a real commitment to grassroots football."
