Hertfordshire FA Football Development Officer - Steve Maker

Introducing our Disability focused Football Development Officer

Say hello to our newest FDO, Steve Maker!

Former FA Skills Team Leader, Steve Maker, has taken on the role as a disability focused Football Development Officer at Hertfordshire FA.

The role enables him to focus on the support, development and provision of disability football throughout the county, ensuring players, coaches, referees and volunteers, who may be considered to have a disability, have sufficient access and involvement in football.

To improve the growth and vision of the game, Steve likes to focus on four specific areas; working with those players who have disabilities in mainstream football, looking at the transition between mainstream football and the disability specifc game, PAN (all-inclusive) disability football - where the disabilities range, and impairment specific football.

Beginning the role in October, Steve has already been in contact with a number of key partners, clubs, leagues and and local groups, including Herts Sports Partnership, Hertfordshire Disability Foundation, Herts Senior Inclusive League, Youth Inclusive League, Stevenage Foundation Watford FC CSE Trust, Aspire Powerchair, and many local Charter Standard Commnity Clubs.
