The National Programme
The FA Coach Mentor Programme is a major investment in the grass-roots game and offers on-the-ground support to FA Charter Standard Clubs and coaches.
Coach Development is seen by The FA as central to the progress of the game, and working collaboratively accelerates learning and supports coaches development.
The FA Coach Mentoring Programme aims to improve coaching in grassroots football by up skilling and supporting coaches to develop knowledge, confidence and skills.
It aims to bring the England DNA to life in grassroots clubs while also helping to improve match-day behaviours. Supporting individual learning is key to the programme, while retaining coaches in the game through increased support is of paramount importance.
What’s Happening in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire FA has 4 FA Mentors working with selected clubs across the County. Each club is currently offered 50 hours of mentoring across the season.
The hours are used in an agreed format working with coaches that have either been selected by the club or who have actively sought support. A legacy coach is identified within the club, by the club and FA Mentor, to continue with the support of coaches once the 50 hours of FA Mentoring has come to an end.
This season our FA Mentors are working with:
|Matt Reveley||Chorleywood Common|
|Richard Utting||Cuffley Youth|
|Bal Singh||Hitchin Belles|
|Ciara Allan||Hertford Town Youth|
FA Mentor Ciara Allan is offering support to our newly formed network of female coaches from the #SheCanCoach group. Learn more about the mentoring programme through #SheCanCoach here.
In 2015-16 our FA Mentors worked with Wheathampsted Wanders, St Albans City Youth, AC Finchley, Garston Ladies, Bishops Stortford, Bury Rangers, Letchworth Garden City Eagles, Bedwell Rangers, Welwyn Pegasus and Knebworth Youth.
