We are very proud to announce that Sophie Peskett has been selected for the English Schools FA u15 Girls National Team for season 2016/17 after a tough final 32 trial at Stafford Town FC earlier this month.

Sophie flew through the first phase to be selected for team South East to play against the south west in a second trial. Sophie was selected at this phase to be a part of the ESFA South Squad playing ESFA North, where the best players on either team were to be selected for the final squad.

Sophie played some fantastic football, scoring 2 goals from Left wing and playing the final 3rd of the trial at left back. This was a test for Sophie who is usually an attacking player but her ability to show versatility in a range of positions secured her selection for the final squad.

She will be attending a training camp in Porto, followed by representing England (ESFA) in the Bob Docherty Cup next spring.

England are current holders of the trophy and will be defending their title.

Sophie has come so far with her football since she joined John Warner School in year 7. When I first met her she was playing in a local boys team, and in the last three years she has secured her spot within the Essex FA u15 Centre of Excellence, playing up an age group for the past year.

Sophie has represented Herts Schools FA for the past two seasons and has now secured her National Selection for ESFA. Sophie has a brilliant attitude and is a clever footballer with some of the fastest feet I have seen in the game.

It has been a pleasure to coach and support her through this process.
