Referees interested in applying for promotion should contact the County Referees Assessing Organiser either in writing or by e-mail no later than 1st May each year (but should attempt to do so at the beginning of that calendar year as the Promotion season actually starts on the 1st March and concludes at the end of February the following year):

Applicants will be asked to complete an application form and return it to Alan with a cheque payment of £25.00 made payable to the Hertfordshire Football Association Limited to participate in the scheme.
The fee will be returned at the end of the assessment season provided the candidate has completed all the requirements of the promotion scheme.
Promotion candidates will be sent an information handbook by Alan, which details the promotion scheme in full.
Once in the scheme referees must complete the Match Details Form with details of their appointments and send it to the Assessing Organiser, allowing reasonable time prior to the match taking place.
To complete the form you will need the following information:
a) Date of the match
b) Name of the competition
c) Names of both clubs
d) Location of venue
e) Time of kick off
Should an appointment be cancelled or changed in any way, the Assessing Organiser must be informed immediately.
First class post must be used on all postal correspondence.
Referees applying for promotion should read the Referees Committee Regulations, which can be found in the County handbook, paying particular attention to the promotion procedures.
All promotion candidates are required to attend an in-service seminar, including an examination on the Laws of the Game, this is an FA Requirement.
All Hertfordshire Assessors are registered with the Football Association.
