The FA Coaching Bursary Scheme

As part of The FA funding agreement with Sport England plans have been agreed to invest in grassroots coaching over the next 5 years through a coaching bursary scheme. 

The funding has been distributed to County FA’s to support the delivery of the FA Level 2 and individual blocks 1-3 and the FA Level 3 (UEFA B).

The funding is to be allocated per learner as follows;

  • UEFA B (FA Level 3) £100.00
  • FA Level 2 (Full) £100.00
  • FA Level 2 (Block 1) £30.00
  • FA Level 2 (Block 2) £40.00
  • FA Level 2 (Block 3) £30.00

As part of The FA Coaches Bursary Scheme you will be required to book a place online at the full course fee.  Should your application for funding be successful we will inform you via email and you will be reimbursed the agreed funding amount. Priority will be given to volunteer coaches, female coaches and coaches of an ethnic minority.

Successful applicants will be awarded a bursary of £600 toward the full cost of The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football.

The bursary does not offer a guaranteed placement on a course. Bursary recipients are still required to apply for courses in the same way as non-bursary candidates.
This bursary is for female coaches and coaches of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic origin.

The application period is normally three months from when it opens.
Once the application process has closed a member of our bursary team will be in contact within four weeks of the applications process closing.
No. By applying to the bursary programme, you are applying for a financial contribution towards an FA coaching course.

If you are successful with your application, you will still be required to go through the regular application procedures the same as non-bursary recipients.
You can use it immediately and have up to two years to use the bursary once it has been awarded.
Once you have found the course you would like to join, all you are required to do is follow the standard application process.

As soon as all applications have been processed, a member of The FA Education Operations team will be in touch to let you know whether or not you have been successful in gaining a place on the course.

If you have been successful, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a unique booking link where you can pay using your bursary.
Yes. FA Licensed Coaches’ Club members are already eligible for discounted course costs, which means the bursary’s contribution will be towards a lower figure than non-FA Licensed Coaches’ Club members.
