Summer Tournaments

Tournaments, Festivals and Charity Matches in Hertfordshire

All 'One Off' or Small Sided Competitions taking place in the county must be sanctioned by Hertfordshire FA

This includes tournaments, festivals and charity based matches. Should an event not be sanctioned all competing clubs and participating referees will not be covered by their insurances and are liable to disciplinary action.

With a large number of tournaments taking place across Hertfordshire each year, we endeavour to update the list as soon as additional tournaments are sanctioned, so please check back regularly for the latest details.

Tournaments and COVID-19 Restrictions

Tournaments can take place as long as they abide by all relevant Government and FA guidance in place at the time. Should you wish to host a large-scale event with crowds and hospitality, we recommend waiting until later in the roadmap when restrictions are likely to be reduced.

Organisers are also advised liaise with their Local Authority when planning an event to ensure they meet all necessary Public Health requirements.

Template Tournament Rules

A key part of running a tournament will be setting out appropriate rules for everyone taking part. To help with this we have drafted a template set of rules which must be used as a basis for any tournament taking place in the county and amended as necessary to suit your competition.

How to get it sanctioned

Once you are ready to make it official, we have put together a step by step guide to help you understand the process of getting it sanctioned by us which you can download by following the link below. If you have any further questions please email
