The new Watford FA Futsal 5s league is being launched by Hertfordshire FA and is being hosted at Parmiter's School Sport Centre in Watford.

Futsal is a small-sided, five-a-side game, recognised and supported by FIFA and UEFA with World and European Championships for club and national teams.

Many countries we admire for the technical skills of their players use Futsal to develop their players. It’s helped to produce some of the world’s best players including Lionel Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Robinho – and now it’s available in Watford!

The indoor 5-a-side Futsal league is open to anyone interested in getting a team together, including schools/colleges, students, clubs and businesses. You’ll have to hurry though, as there’s only space for eight teams – on a first come, first served basis.

Lucy Burdin, the woman behind the new league explains:

“As a small-sided game, Futsal constantly gives players the opportunity to receive and play the ball, whilst under pressure or in confined spaces and is a format that really encourages player development. It's great for fun and fitness too!"

The new league will run on Wednesday nights and will cost £30 per game per team.
