Herts Senior County League Awarded FA Charter Standard

We are pleased to announce HSCL have become the first adult Charter Standard league in the county

We are pleased to announce that the Hertfordshire Senior County League has become the first adult league in the county to be awarded FA Charter Standard status

The Charter Standard Programme is The FA’s accreditation scheme open to all grassroots clubs and leagues. It aims to raise standards in the grassroots game, supporting the development of clubs and leagues, recognising and rewarding commitment, quality and achievement.

In return for becoming accredited FA Charter Standard leagues and clubs receive access to benefits that help to attract and retain clubs, teams, players and volunteers, including:

• Funding for football development
• Access to promotional resources and guidance
• Tailored support from The FA and County FAs

The league was presented their award at this evening at a meeting of committee members which was attended by Hertfordshire FA staff. Football Development Officer Kieran Fox said:

“We would like to congratulate Hertfordshire Senior County League and the committee on becoming Charter Standard. This award clearly demonstrates their commitment to provide well organised football in safe and inclusive environment".

"We know that the adult male game faces a number of challenges at grassroots level and so the ability to better attract and retain players and clubs can only help make it more sustainable. We hope they will be the first of many adult leagues in the county to achieve this”.

Ted Collie, HSCL Chairman said: “After all the hard work by both the league and our member clubs, we are proud to be awarded Charter Standard Status by The FA, a sure sign that we are absolutely committed to being one of the best places to play and enjoy football”.

“We would like to thank Hertfordshire FA for their support in achieving this award and look forward to continuing working closely with them in the future as we look to develop further”.
