In Memory of Cyril White
It is with great sadness that we must report the recent passing of Cyril White, Honorary Life Vice President of Hertfordshire FA
Cyril was heavily involved in the running of the grassroots game for a large part of his life, giving countless hours across many decades to the administration of local football as Secretary of the Stevenage Sunday League. He joined the Hertfordshire FA Council in 1968 and became Chair of the North Division, playing a significant role in discipline matters. He was subsequently made a Life Vice President of the Association in recognition of his long and loyal service.
Richard Dowden, Hertfordshire FA Council Member said:
“When I first joined, Cyril was already well established and highly respected member of the Association whose efforts were instrumental in keeping local football running smoothly. A very astute administrator with a deep knowledge of the game, there wasn't much that got past Cyril, even though in those days some might try it on. His commitment to football was an inspiration and it was a pleasure to work alongside him as a volunteer all those years.”
Graham Phillips, Chair of Hertfordshire FA said:
“We are saddened to hear of Cyril’s passing. He was a dedicated servant of the game who made a significant contribution over a great many years and will be sadly missed. Everyone at Hertfordshire FA sends their sincere condolences to his family and friends and our thoughts are with them at this most difficult time.”
