Introducing Our New Football Development Officer (Referees)

We are pleased to announce Joe Karram will be moving across from his current role

Supporting the recruitment, conversion, retention, and progression of match officials across the county

Hertfordshire FA are pleased to announce that Joe Karram will be moving across from his current role with us to become the new Football Development Officer supporting Referees in Hertfordshire.

Many referees may already know Joe from his time in Football Services, where he worked on disciplinary matters, club affiliation, league sanctioning, competition processes and player registrations, as well as leading on FA technology.

Joe brings this knowledge of the game to his new role, alongside his experience as an established Referee at Level 4 (Step 5 & 6). Joe has been active as a referee for 15 years and his passion for refereeing is evident.

Over the life of the current Hertfordshire FA Strategy, Joe will be supporting match officials in Hertfordshire across all areas including recruitment, conversion, retention, and progression of the referee workforce.

The role of Football Development Officer (Referees) will work strategically to provide continued professional development and networking opportunities across all various pathways, whilst providing relevant support and education to referees and offering advice around safeguarding in football.

Joe looks forward to building a strong relationship with referees in Hertfordshire, whilst representing Hertfordshire FA as we deliver our Strategy for Grassroots Football.
