England Football Grassroots Football Awards

Grassroots Football Awards 2024

Who will you nominate? Say thank you to those who give their time to make football happen

Who will you nominate in the Grassroots Football Awards?

The Grassroots Football Awards are here and are an opportunity for you to say thank you to all the people who give their time to make football happen. The awesome volunteers who give so much week-in, week out, rain or shine.

By nominating them for a Grassroots Football Award, you’re passing on your thanks. For every big and small moment they bring. For their time, energy and ideas. For your appreciation of everything they do in making the grassroots game great.

We want them to know they are appreciated by those around them, so we’ll let everyone know that they’ve been nominated, because even just knowing that someone has taken the time taken to say ‘thank you’ will make them feel like a winner.

This year, it's easier than ever. You can now tell their story in a way you want simply by letting us know:

• What they do, and how it impresses you
• How they make a difference to others’ lives
• Where they've had an impact in their community

You have until 3 April to submit you nominations via the England Football website.

How the Awards Work

The awards are split into 12 categories, celebrating the amazing work done by individuals, clubs, leagues and projects across grassroots football.

• Club of the Year
• League of the Year
• Match Official of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year
• New Volunteer of the Year
• Coach of the Year - Female Pathway
• Coach of the Year - Male Pathway
• Coach of the Year - Disability Pathway
• Grounds Team of the Year
• The Lioness Award
• Keeping Football Positive Award
• Bobby Moore Award

Each of the County FAs across the country choose a local winner for each category from the nominations in their area, which then form a shortlist for national winners, who are selected by an FA judging panel.

As well as a big thank you, national 2024 Award winners will also enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Making Your Nomination Count

We want to recognise those people who embody all that is good about football, and who apply those qualities to enrich their local communities. Think about who’s impressed you, how they have made a positive difference and what they did to make that happen.

The more detail you give, the better, so for more information on what we are looking for in each category you can download the Awards Criteria.

Nominations close on 3rd April 2024 so make sure you don't miss the chance to thank those who make football great!
